In fact, the Foundation's most encouraging program helps students participate in School SCRABBLE, a youth-oriented version of tournament play that was initiated by the National SCRABBLE Association. Both through local clubs and national tournaments, the School SCRABBLE program boosts student engagement and inspires players to learn more.

The benefits of playing School SCRABBLE go beyond friendly competition with classmates. In fact, Foundation volunteers report that the game broadens a young player’s full potential by building word skills, thinking skills and character. Donations to the Foundation provide equipment and other support to School SCRABBLE teams so they can represent their communities at local and national tournaments.
